- 职位描述：
- Purpose: Develop high quality industrial footwear that is fit for purpose and meets required industry standards. Work within specified timelines and to agreed FOB’s.
Key Tasks
1 Develop Dr Martens global industrial footwear ranges to European and US specifications
Liaise directly with the UK product and design team to gain information required to develop the footwear in the Asia factories as directed. This includes: Spec writing, constructional detailing, fit testing, line adjustment, spec adjustment, costing analysis, liaising with factories, follow up on sample requests & delivery dates
2 Build footwear to the agreed FOB and margin required -Responsible for costing analysis – Liaise with costings team UK and Asia to consider accuracy of CBD and compare against existing product to offer solutions to pricing problems directly to the product and design teams
Responsible for the completion and delivery of each project on time to the price, quality and standards required for the desired market - this includes Industrial, Accessories and Footwear that is developed in Asia

Create accurate and technical specs for all projects
Work with the factories to ensure technically correct construction of finished product.
Communicate constructional direction on development of lasts, outsole moulds and materials and uppers to Factories – fully competent on outsole mould creation and blue prints.
4 Work closely with Dr Martens sourcing and testing teams as well as external agencies such as SATRA & ITS to test, evaluate and flag potential QC issues
5 Manage the industrial timelines within the seasonal calendar, including regular travel to factories in China to ensure product is ready for key meetings
6 Bring innovative ideas to the brand, to challenge and overcome production restraints and to deliver product within the brief for the brand
Creative input when liaising with overseas supply chain to bring new components and construction initiatives to the brand
7 Regular travel to the UK office to attend season range meetings working with product and design team to deliver relevant feedback on build and pricing of the product to enable satisfactory results at the end of the season
Key Competencies
1
5+ years’ experience working in industrial footwear development with a strong understanding of footwear manufacturing methods including welted and cemented constructions
Experience working and liaising with factories in Asia is essential

Footwear development skills, including pattern engineering, last creation and evaluating and correcting outsole mould blueprints
Knowledge of 3D cad systems preferred

Complete understanding of global industrial standards required. The ability to specify CE marked product to S3 category requirements
Good working knowledge of footwear produced to ASTM and CSA requirements
Understanding of the legislative demands of developing products for certification

Good understanding of costing / component values to enable manipulation of specs and patterns to hit target FOB’s
5 A good working knowledge of more specialised demands for safety footwear and of technical component development - especially in the safety critical areas of toe protection and slip resistance, etc.
6 Strong communication skills (verbal and written) to enable accurate communication to UK team and factories including regular skype calls with UK based Manager.
