zLabels is Zalando’s fashion subsidiary. Located in the heart of Berlin, we develop fashion brands handling every step in the product lifecycle from initial design right through to distribution. When designing for new labels we draw inspiration from haute couture collections and young unconventional designers. We have a wide range of fashion labels and brands: from sporty men’s fashion to refined women’s wear up to modern kids shoe collections. Some of our brands and labels like mint&berry, Zign and Twintip have become extremely successful during the last few years, establishing ourselves as a professional fashion company. We plan to continue and build upon this success in the future.
You work closely with the Ethical Trade team and your manager based in the headquarters. You build up a strong co-operation with Asia-based @source field teams, vendors, suppliers and factories.
YOUR TASKS
• You support and contribute to the development of a robust continuous improvement program, and ensure its successful roll-out
• You create factory improvement plans based on independent review of on-site factory conditions and verification of external audit corrective action plans
• You are responsible for design and deliver capacity-building trainings @source, supporting remediation of non-compliances
• You develop a network of reliable technical solutions providers in factory locations and communicate factory standards manuals, defining clear expectations
• You provide regular progress reporting and you are able to handle cross-trainings with internal stakeholders
• You convince by providing Chinese language support globally, as needed
• You are in charge of managing Ethical Trade issues for China
• You effectively collaborate and represent well in industry meetings
WHAT YOU’VE GOT
• You are a successful Graduate, with a minimum of a bachelor’s degree
• You have IRCA-approved Lead Auditor qualification in social and/or environmental health and safety systems, such as SA8000, WRAP, EICC-GeSI, ISO management systems
• You provide a minimum of 4 years’ experience managing footwear, apparel and/or accessories factory compliance programs for brands or retailers, or conducting audits for industry bodies such as SMETA or BSCI, or third-party auditing firms, with a focus on health & safety
• You are an expert in country-by-country labour and EHS local laws, international standards and best practice
• You convince with strong and clear communications skills and fluent English, Mandarin and Cantonese
• You can connect with and build up trust with both factory managers and workers within the supply base
• You are now based in Hong Kong or Dong Guan/Guangdong, with frequent travel nationally and regionally
• You love to work independently, dynamic and flexible, with the ability to drive change in the supply chain
• You convince with personal integrity and professional conduct
