- GENERAL FUNCTION:
Expand Wolverine Worldwide Digital Product Creation approved by managing last and bottom associate data. We had new hires planed in PD Operation for 2017 which is supported by management in building the Bottom Technician that WWW requires in the future. The Bottom Technician will be the subject matter expertise and maintain product integrity by collaborating with footwear design and development team to accurately manage the last, bottom & mold while considering all performance, comfort, fit and the manufacturing requirement.
PRIMARY DUTIES:
1. Create and revise the paper patterns of the outsole by 3D Scanning physical lasts as needed, process. To make sure all of the blue print, the bottom paper pattern and mold made properly fit with upper construction.
2. Introduce PDM and 3D process to factory/Brand PD to implement product development and manage the requested bottom molds, bottom paper patterns and work with 3D rendering in centralized.
3. Manage the mold & bottom technical issues resolution with factory & Brand PD team.
4. Prepare information and reports that are insightful, user-focused, and foster innovation within the Brands.
5. Identify, assess and development working expertise of existing and new hardware/software for efficient 3D last & Bottom capabilities.
6. Research appropriate internet forums, article, or webinars, and attend suitable user group meeting, seminars and training to discover and document last & bottom and engineering best practices.
7. Other assignments from direct supervisor.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
1. Associates degree in outsole Bottoming Engineering preferred and 10 years experiences.
2. Communicate basically in English in written & reading.
3. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and strong Excel, basic database understanding
4. Strong communication skills.
5. Can work independently and under a heavy pressure.
6. Systems knowledge (ERP/PLM) helpful but not a must.
